One hundred and thirty-five days from now you will be sitting in the Portland Jetport ready to embark on an adventure that may well change your life! Twenty of you will be making the return to New Orleans and 15 of you will be making your first trip. God will be moving in each of us.
Those of us who are returning are anxious to see the progress. Those who are going for the first time have no idea, beyond the pictures, of what to expect.
I believe that God will assemble the exact team He wants in New Orleans (NOLA - New Orleans, LA). We have a list of 6 alternates at this point. The first priority has to go to high school students and the leaders we need to make this trip happen. We had numerous contacts from adults, college students and even kids who don't go to church here! I wish we could take them all.
Our team will be 36 members strong. That's 50% larger than last year! That means more, more vehicles, more supplies, more people to keep track of... It will be an adventure for sure!
I have told our alternates to hang in there, pray, work to support the team and be ready should the Lord open a door. Georgie saw that happen last year!
Congratulations on making the team. I hope you are excited, nervous, a little scared and ready to have God use you.

I just saw something on the news about New Orleans. And they are still struggling down there for sure. This one man is going to court to try and get money so he can repair damages on his house that were caused by the flooding from when the levee broke. And apparently there is so many more people trying to do the same thing he is. But they arn't getting anywhere. It's sad for me and must be extremely disheartening for them.
